Add Some Christmas Sparkle to Your Home

Christmas lights

Now that it’s time to get the decorations down from the loft and spruce up the place with some Christmas sparkle, we’ve got a few simple ways to create some extra festive cheer.

Christmas is a time we all look forward to. It gives us the opportunity to relax in the comfort of our homes with loved ones and appreciate the time spent with one another. If you are having guests over or just want to get into the spirit of the day, you can create your very own Christmas winter wonderland. Lanterns are quick and easy to display but are highly effective, both in the home and leading up to your front door. You can customise lanterns to suit the season and use them as an inviting decoration for guests to enjoy. You can pick lanterns up at low costs and they will definitely make an impact. If you have some glass vases lying around doing nothing, you can easily brighten them up with the addition of some Christmas decorations. You don’t need to spend any money on extra baubles or tinsel though, instead you can use what you already have in your Christmas stash. Simply place your decorations in a clear vase and you have the ideal table centrepiece.

Combine your Scottish heritage with your Christmas celebrations and adorn your home with some tartan decorations. If you are entertaining guests for Christmas dinner, find some tartan napkins and crackers, and decorate chairs with festive tartan sashes. You can guarantee that this will put a smile on the faces of all your guests and make them feel welcome, but be prepared, it may also put them in the mood for a rendition of the Proclaimers after a few sherries!

Continue the theme through the house by draping some tartan garland up your staircase and your home will be admired by all. Whether it’s a grand and expensive arrangement or a more modest and budget-friendly display, a garland will really give your home that finishing Christmas touch.

After a big Christmas dinner there’s nothing nicer than relaxing by the fire with a glass of wine and some comfortable cushions to really get you in the spirit of Christmas. If you are having guests over, provide some cosy floor cushions. This will be particularly handy if space is tight but you still want to get everyone involved in the festivities.

Finally, male or female, young or old, we all love the sight of twinkling lights (even if we don’t care to admit it!) You can adorn your home from roof to floor and since its Christmas time, it can never look over the top. Perfect for enrobing trees and creating an inviting pathway to you front door; as far as Christmas lights are concerned, you can never have too many!
